The One With A Locked Down Mothers Day

I can't see Nanny June today but have sent a card and flowers to arrive in time and early enough to be quarantined. Have phoned the home a couple of times to check they have arrived and arrange a visit, now Covid restrictions allow but the calls keep going through to answer phone.

When I feel quite distant from Nanny June, I can still at least read her dairies. This was a lovely entry from Mother's Day in 2010:

Elizabeth is taking me out for Mother's Day with Pauline and Richard so had to cancel Eileen's coffee.

Lovely afternoon spent having tea in a high class hotel, Richard's mother Pauline and myself were treated [us] to it for Mother's Day, it was the best time I have had for a long time.

This is especially poignant as this year is the first mothers day my husband will have without his mum.

After a year of Covid restrictions it feels now more than ever, that it is important to make memories.
