The one with the Christmas Decoration of Quandry.
So this arrived in the post.
I understand the sentiment. I understand the thought behind it. I understand the need to engage Nanny June in activities and give her a sense of belonging and attune her to a time of festivities.
Pre dementia Nanny June would have laughed out loud at this. She would have also cringed at the awfulness of it. She would have suggested we put it in the bin.
But where does it belong?
Not in the bin. But not alongside the similar Christmas decorations made by my primary school age children. She is not my child.
There are many beautiful messages in the Christmas story. I always think the star is a bit underrated.
A tiny point of light changing the course of the destiny and history of others.
Stars are little daily miracles. Burning themselves up until all they leave is a legacy.
Little tiny points of light can sometimes give us the greatest hope.
...and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
Matthew 2:9-10
